Tottenham ace Sergio Reguilon injured ahead of Liverpool clash
According to the Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major blow ahead of their Premier League clash against Liverpool as star defender Sergio Reguilon is out injured.
The 24-year-old left-back joined Tottenham from Real Madrid last summer and has quickly grown into a vital player for Jose Mourinho’s side. Till date, the Spanish international has featured in 20 matches in all competitions for Spurs, contributing with five assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Reguilon, based on his impressive displays, has become Tottenham’s first-choice left-back ahead of seasoned campaigner Ben Davies. However, the former Real Madrid man is set to miss the clash against Liverpool later tonight with an injury.
The left-back was an unused substitute in Tottenham’s last game against Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup. However, he seems to have picked up an injury during the week, and after having undergone scans on Wednesday, it is now being claimed that Reguilon could miss out for close to three weeks. This will come as a blow for Mourinho & co. not only for the Liverpool game, as we have some big fixtures lined up against the likes of Chelsea, Everton (FA Cup) and Manchester City in the upcoming weeks.
What makes the matter a tad bit more concerning is that Davies himself is a doubt for tonight, having picked up a knock against Wycombe on Monday night. (h/t Evening Standard)

It remains to be seen as to whether Davies recovers in time for tonight’s clash against Liverpool. If not, Japhet Tanganga could then become an option for Mourinho, having played at left-back previously.
