Tottenham open talks with the agent of Napoli star Nikola Maksimovic
According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with Fali Ramadani, the agent of Napoli defender Nikola Maksimovic, over the possibility of a transfer.
The 29-year-old has been playing in Italy since 2013, when he made the switch to Torino from Serbian outfit Red Star Belgrade. After three years, the defender joined Napoli has grown into a reliable squad member for the Partenopei.
Till date, he has made 86 appearances for the Naples outfit, scoring and assisting two goals apiece. The 29-year-old has 25 caps for the Serbian national team. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Maksimovic is in the final six months of his contract with Napoli. This has seemingly put him on the radars of Tottenham, with a summer move touted to be in the works. (h/t Football.london)
And now, Schira is claiming that the Lilywhites have already opened talks with the Serbian international’s agent, Fali Ramadani. The towering 6ft 4in defender is permitted to speak to clubs from abroad over a pre-contract agreement for a free transfer in the summer as he has less than six months left on his contract.
Maksimovic might not be the flashiest names out there. However, the 29-year-old has accumulated loads of experience at the top level. And on a free transfer, he has the potential to be a handy squad member even if it is for the short-term.
