Boost for Tottenham as Harry Kane injury not as bad as initially feared
According to the Telegraph (subscription required), Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major injury boost as Harry Kane could return to action earlier than initially feared.
The 27-year-old England captain had to come off at half-time in the midweek game against Liverpool after picking up injuries to both his ankles. There were concerns raised as to the striker could be set for a lengthy period out on the sidelines.
This was because Kane has had ankle injuries in the past, which has put him out of action for six weeks on one occasion.
However, as per the aforementioned report, that is not the case, as, at the worst, Kane could be sidelined for as long as two weeks only. It is claimed that the striker is not experiencing as much pain as he previously did during the past cases of his ankle injuries.
Full details about his condition will only be available once he undergoes a scan though, with Tottenham waiting on the swelling to go down before proceeding with the next steps.
If he is sidelined for just a couple of weeks, the England striker will miss our league games against Brighton, Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion, along with the FA Cup tie against Everton. But, Kane could be back in time for our big Premier League clash against Manchester City on February 13.
