Tottenham considering loaning out Japhet Tanganga on deadline day
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are considering the possibility of loaning out Japhet Tanganga on the winter transfer window deadline day.
The 21-year-old is a product of the Tottenham youth academy. He made his breakthrough in the first-team last season and enjoyed a prolonged run in the side under Jose Mourinho before injuries hampered his development.
It has been the same case this season as well, with Tanganga having had to battle fitness problems. This has resulted in him featuring just seven times across all competitions so far this term.
With game-time coming at a premium, Tanganga is considering leaving the club on loan for West Bromwich Albion. The youngster believes that a move to Hawthorns would help him continue his development.
However, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is reluctant to sanction such a move as he is of the feeling that he might need the defender as cover given the congested fixture schedule.
In an alternate update, Sky Sports’ Lyall Thomas has claimed that Scottish champions Celtic are also interested in taking Tanganga on loan, along with another Premier League club.

Tanganga has shown plenty of promise in his short career at the first-team level. However, injuries have derailed his progress this term. And while a loan move would do him good, the club also needs reinforcements at the back.
Davinson Sanchez has been inconsistent while both Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty have struggled as well. Tanganga’s ability to play at centre-back and right-back could, thus, come in handy in the business end of the season. It remains to be seen as to what Tottenham decide on the immediate future of the 21-year-old.
