Tottenham not a proper team without Harry Kane, claims Graeme Souness
According to the Daily Mail, former Premier League manager turned pundit, Graeme Souness, has claimed Tottenham Hotspur do not look anything like a proper team without star man Harry Kane.
His comments come after Tottenham succumbed to a shock 1-0 defeat to a struggling Brighton & Hove Albion outfit at the American Express Stadium on Sunday night. The manner in which the Seagulls dominated Tottenham, despite having not won a single game at home this season, was disheartening to see.
Jose Mourinho’s side appeared disjointed and devoid of any sort of clear ideas as Graham Potter & co. picked up a huge win in their battle to avoid relegation. And Souness, speaking after the game, has branded Tottenham’s performance as dismal, insisting that the team struggles without Kane.
The 27-year-old was unavailable after picking up ankle injuries in the defeat to Liverpool last week. Without him at the top, there was no creative threat offered at all as the likes of Son Heung-min, Gareth Bale and Steven Bergwijn struggled to make an impact.
“Liverpool beat them easily in the week and I think they have been well beaten again today by a team that is in and around the relegation dogfight.
“Concerning times. Harry Kane is their superstar, their go to man. He gets them out a hole time and time again. You cant say without him they are anything like a proper team. I think it was a dismal performance by them today.”

It was a sorry display from the team, with the likes of Toby Alderweireld and Hugo Lloris the only saving graces with strong performances at the back. With Chelsea and Arsenal picking up steam below us, it is important we return to winning ways at the earliest possible.
Up next is a huge London derby against Chelsea at home later this week on Thursday.
