Tottenham set to battle arch-rivals Arsenal for Evan N’Dicka
According to German publication BILD (h/t Daily Mail), Tottenham Hotspur are set to battle it out with arch-rivals Arsenal for the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt star Evan N’Dicka.
Having come through the ranks at French club AJ Auxerre and went on to make 16 first-team appearances before making the switch to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2018. Since joining the club, the 21-year-old has made 82 appearances, scoring three goals and five assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
N’Dicka has established himself as a mainstay in Adi Hutter’s side and his growth and development has seen him attract interest from a number of Premier League and European clubs. Among the teams interested are Tottenham Hotspur and north London rivals Arsenal. (h/t Daily Mail)
Tottenham strengthened their defensive unit last summer with the signing of Joe Rodon. However, with Toby Alderweireld not getting any younger and the rest of the defence not convincing enough, bringing in another centre-back in the summer would be a smart move.
N’Dicka, despite his young age, has already been playing at the highest level in Germany for a few years now and has garnered plenty of experience. That, coupled with the scope for improvement with experience, the Frenchman can be a fine long-term addition to the ranks at Tottenham.

However, the report goes on to add that Arsenal might have the edge over Tottenham and other interested parties in the race. This is because N’Dicka’s agent, Michael N’Cho Ibou, has close links with the Gunners. He was involved in the deal that saw Arsenal sign Nicolas Pepe in 2019.
It remains to be seen if the reported interest in N’Dicka leads to anything substantial come summer. Should we do make a move, the 21-year-old has the potential to be a quality addition to the ranks.
