Tottenham Hotspur considering Max Aarons as Serge Aurier replacement
According to Eurosport, Tottenham Hotspur are lining up Norwich City youngster Max Aarons as a potential replacement for right-back Serge Aurier ahead of the summer window.
Aurier’s future at the club has become a hot topic of discussion over the last week after he stormed off from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following his substitution at half-time in the defeat against Liverpool.
The Ivory Coast international was omitted from the matchday squad for the game against Brighton & Hove Albion. However, he was reinstated to the lineup against Chelsea on Thursday night, where the former PSG man once again underwhelmed.
And the report states that Tottenham are already preparing a list of viable replacements for Aurier, with Aarons emerging as a potential candidate. The 21-year-old Englishman has been on the club’s radar for a year now, with Tottenham having scouted him in the past.
Reports last month claimed that Tottenham were considering making a move for the Norwich City academy man in the summer. (h/t Football.london)
And Aurier’s recent outburst may have served to further firm up the club’s plans to sign the youngster at the end of the season.

Aurier, at the end of the season, will be entering the final year of his contract with Tottenham. So, offloading him makes a lot of sense. And, bringing in someone young and enterprising like Aarons, who showcased his potential in the Premier League last season, can turn out to be a smart move.
It will be interesting to see this leads to anything meaningful come the summer transfer window.
