Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho backs Harry Kane to break all records after West Brom win
According to Eurosport, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that star striker Harry Kane will go on to beat all records after the win against West Brom.
Kane had missed our last two games due to an ankle injury. However, he made a swift and surprise return to the starting XI against West Brom earlier today.
Having missed a few opportunities in the first period, the England captain finally found the back of the net in the second half, to put Tottenham in front. Son Heung-min then added a second goal to ensure that Mourinho & co. cruised to a comfortable victory over the Baggies.
Kane, with his goal on the afternoon, went joint second in the Tottenham’s all-time goalscorers list with Bobby Smith on 208 goals. And Mourinho, who was happy to have his main man back on the field, backed him to go on and break all sorts of records.
“Harry Kane is a special player in the history of the club. He will beat every possible record.”
Speaking further on the importance and the impact of the England captain, Mourinho admitted that Tottenham are dependent on Kane. (h/t Daily Mail)
“He is one of the best strikers in the world. Period. There is nothing else to say. The team depends a lot on him, we can’t hide that. It’s the goals he can score, the assists he can make, the link play he has, that personality that players like that can have and he is always an important influence for us.”
