Dane Scarlett sends Instagram message after making Tottenham Hotspur debut
It was a night to remember for Dane Scarlett as the 16-year-old made his Premier League debut for Tottenham Hotspur against West Bromwich Albion. The match saw us end a three-game losing streak in the league.
With the result secure after Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min’s goals, Jose Mourinho decided to bring on the youngster in the dying seconds. At 16 years and 320 days, Scarlett is the club’s youngest debutant in the Premier League.
A forward, the teenager has scored 20 goals for the Spurs academy this season. This has seen him train with the first-team and it should do his confidence a world of good.
It was the youngster’s second appearance for the senior side this season. He earlier made a cameo in our Europa League fixture against Ludogorets. Held in high regard at the club, he looks to be on his way to making a name for himself in North London.

Speaking to the BBC (h/t Football.london) after the game, Jose Mourinho too lavished praise on the youngster. Someone who has been in coaching for two decades, Mourinho’s words will have encouraged Scarlett in his desire to become a top-class player.
