English Premier League: Tottenham vs Southampton rearranged

Going into the FA Cup game against Everton midweek, Tottenham were aware that a win on the night could see them have to deal with a changed schedule owing to cup commitments.

Spurs lost 5-4 on the night but will still have to endure a rescheduling. Jose Mourinho’s side was supposed to take on Southampton at home on 20th March. However, the Saints who qualified for the FA Cup last four, take on Bournemouth that Saturday.

According to the club’s official site, the match has now been postponed. The rescheduled date is yet to be decided.

Given our busy schedule, this rearrangement is unlikely to be a one-off.  A similar outcome could be on the cards provided Everton make it to the last four of the FA Cup.

Tottenham face Everton on the weekend of April 17, the same date the Toffees would be taking part in a hypothetical semifinal. Carlo Ancelotti’s side have been drawn against Manchester City and could have their work cut out in making the last four. That could very well work in our favour.

With us still alive in the Europa League, games could come thick and fast in the second half of the campaign. With a lot still to be played for, we cannot afford to slack off.

Tottenham downed Southampton 5-2 in the reverse fixture earlier this season. Son Heung-Min was the hero on the night as he scored four goals. Hopefully, we can put up a similar performance when the match comes around.
