Tottenham face competition from West Ham United and Juventus for Mikkel Daamsgard
A report by La Republicca (h/t Daily Mail) mentions that West Ham United have joined the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Mikkel Damsgaard.
Damsgaard plays for Serie A side Sampdoria, where he has impressed this season. The 20-year-old joined the Genoa-based club from Nordsjaelland last summer.
He was terrific in his last Danish Superliga season. The youngster bagged 9 goals and 4 assists in his 25 league appearances during that campaign, which prompted the Italian side to sign him. (h/t Transfermarkt)
He still has over 3 years left on his current contract with Sampdoria. However, a chance to play in the Premier League could tempt him to leave Italy. (h/t Daily Mail)
Damsgaard to North London?
He does not have a shortage of suitors. Apart from Tottenham and West Ham, fellow Premier League clubs Southampton and Leeds United have also been linked with a move for him.
Serie A champions Juventus are another team monitoring the Danish winger. Damsgaard is fairly versatile and can play in a number of positions.
He is mostly deployed as a winger but can also slot in the midfield if needed. So far, he has 21 league appearances this season where has notched up 2 goals and 4 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Spurs do not have any shortage of wingers at the moment. However, Gareth Bale, who has already looked out of his depth in the league, is likely to return to Real Madrid in the summer.
