Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris continues to be linked with PSG move

A report by Football Insider (h/t football.london) mentions that Tottenham Hotspur Hugo Lloris continues to be linked with a move to PSG.

Paris Saint-Germain, of course, appointed former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino recently. Since his appointment, Lloris is one name that has been touted to reunite with the Argentine.

And now it is stated that PSG are preparing a ‘blockbuster swoop’ for the World Cup winner. The report adds that Pochettino is a big fan of Lloris and wants him in Paris.

PSG have currently have Keylor Navas and Sergio Rico as their top two goalkeepers.

34-year-old Lloris will be out of contract next summer and hence, Spurs should be quick in addressing his future. The Frenchman enjoyed a great start to this season.

A potential reunion in Paris

The club captain has not missed a single second of action this season in the league. This shows the amount of trust Mourinho has in his number 1.

That has changed quickly as Lloris has just kept one clean sheet in his last 7 league games. That has unsurprisingly coincided with the club’s worst stretch of results this season. A run of 5 defeats from last 6 games has seen Jose Mourinho’s side drop to 9th in the table.

The drop in the goalkeeper department once Lloris leaves would be very noticeable and any move for Lloris would make way more sense if there is a goalkeeper lined up to replace him.

Lloris signed for the Londoners all the way back in 2012 from Olympique Lyon and since then, has been one of the first names on the teamsheet. Overall, he has made 354 appearances for the club.
