Jose Mourinho has the backing of Harry Kane as Tottenham manager faces the heat

A report by Football Insider (h/t Express) states that Jose Mourinho is backed by Harry Kane despite Tottenham Hotspur being on their worst run this season.

The club recently suffered a harrowing 3-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City. Pep Guardiola outclassed Mourinho on the pitch as Spurs succumbed to their 4th defeat this month.

The Spurs manager is one of the favourites to be sacked next. However, he can at least count on his star striker for support.

The report adds that the English international has privately stated that he is behind the former Real Madrid boss’ methods.

Mourinho has Kane backing

The Lilywhites have won just 3 of their last 12 league matches, losing 6. This poor run of form has seen their title hopes derailed as they have slipped to 9th in the table.

The pressure is bound to build on Mourinho. The fans were dreaming of a title charge but would now have to be content with a top-four race.

But all is not lost. Spurs are still vying for trophies on at least two fronts. Mourinho has led his side to the League Cup final against Manchester City in April.

The club is also involved in the Europa League as they take on Wolfsberger in the last-32 match on Thursday. Kane’s support to Mourinho would undoubtedly relax the fans who were worried about any potential dressing room clashes.

Also, the club is willing to give Mourinho until at least the end of the season despite the recent terrible form. The Portuguese would be hoping to repay the club’s faith by winning them their first trophy since 2008. (h/t Daily Mail)
