Gareth Bale reveals Joe Rodon gets teased the most in Tottenham squad

Speaking to the club’s official Twitter handle, Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale has revealed that fellow Welshman Joe Rodon gets teased the most by the rest of the teammates.

Rodon arrived at Tottenham last summer from EFL Championship club Swansea City. The Welsh centre-back has found it a tad bit challenging to adapt to the rigours of Premier League football and hasn’t seen regular game-time.

However, he seems to be getting along all too well with the rest of the squad though, with Bale naming his international teammate as the Tottenham player that gets teased the most.

“Joe Rodon get a bit. The Roadman gets a bit.”

Quipping in with a response, fellow new signing, Joe Hart pointed fingers at Bale himself as well as his Wales teammate Ben Davies claiming it was the pair that troubled Rodon the most. The former England international said:

“Only from you. You and Ben [Davies] just abuse him.”

Given that Rodon is Bale and Davies’ international teammate, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the trio share a good equation and enjoy some good-natured ribbing amongst themselves.

As far as matters on the pitch are considered, Bale showed promising signs as Tottenham beat Wolfsberger in the UEFA Europa League this week. It is now important that the veteran winger builds on it and looks to get his season back on track.

Rodon, meanwhile, has shown promise in his handful of appearances for Tottenham. However, there remains plenty of work to be done for him to become a first-team regular.
