Tottenham target £30m move for Burnley star Nick Pope to replace Hugo Lloris
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have identified Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope as their top target to replace club captain Hugo Lloris.
Lloris has been at the club for almost a decade now and has been an excellent servant. However, over the course of the season, the Frenchman has made some costly errors.
In addition, his contract runs out in 2022, which has sparked the interest of French champions PSG. Managed by ex-Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, Les Parisiens are hoping to sign up the veteran goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.
Should Lloris decide to return to his homeland, Tottenham have identified Burnley’s Nick Pope as their top target to replace the veteran shot-stopper. The 28-year-old has been with the Clarets since 2016 and has, in recent years, grown into one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the Premier League.
This has seen him force his way into the England national team as well, with Pope accruing four caps for the Three Lions till date. Valued at £30m, the 28-year-old has a contract with Burnley that runs till the summer of 2023 with the Clarets having the option of extending it by another twelve months.
