Giovani Lo Celso attracting interest from a lot of clubs claims Fabrizio Romano

Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, reputed journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is a man in demand among top clubs in Spain.

The 24-year-old Lo Celso arrived at Tottenham in the summer of 2019 from Real Betis. Signed on loan initially, the Argentine international’s transfer was made permanent in January last year after Christian Eriksen departed to Inter Milan.

Under Jose Mourinho, Lo Celso has grown into a key player for Tottenham. The midfielder started the season positively but hasn’t played a game in close to two months, having been out with an injury. Nevertheless, Romano has claimed that a number of top clubs in Spain have been tracking his progress closely.

“Yes because about Lo Celso, because there are a lot of important clubs interested, also from Spain, important Spanish clubs are asking about Lo Celso, they are appreciating him, he was playing well in Betis, so it is normal that someone wants to bring him back to La Liga.”

However, Romano also goes on to add that Lo Celso is very happy with how things are at Tottenham currently.

“But the player is so happy at Tottenham right now, so there is nothing advanced for him to leave Tottenham this summer, he is really happy with Tottenham.”
