Jose Mourinho provides injury updates ahead of Burnley game
Jose Mourinho has provided injury news regarding two of his players ahead of the Burnley game (h/t Football.london). The manager spoke about the availability of Giovani Lo Celso and Serge Aurier and their status ahead of the weekend game.
Only Lo Celso has been ruled out entirely for the game after the hamstring injury he picked up around Christmas. He will likely remain out for a while as he works on a return. The return of Dele Alli has eased some of those issues, with the midfielder in fine form.
Mourinho, speaking ahead of the game, also gave an update on Serge Aurier.
“Serge is fine, he’s fine. Trained today with the team without any limitations,” said the 58-year-old at his pre-match press conference. As I was saying, everybody is training with the team and Gio is the only one that is not in conditions to play this weekend.
I think even next week will be quite premature for not to say impossible, but he’s coming. Today for the first time for a long time, the medical department could watch the [Europa League] draw as they didn’t have any players inside.”

While Japhet Tanganga has been playing in Aurier’s absence, we could get to see Matty Doherty starting on the weekend. He played out the second leg over Wolfsberger in the Europa League and will be hoping for another start.
