Florian Neuhaus opens up on future amid Tottenham, Liverpool links
Speaking to Kicker (h/t Football.london), Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus has insisted that he is relaxed about his situation amid speculations linking him with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Having been with the club since 2017, Neuhaus has grown into one of the most pivotal members of the team as well as becoming one of the most promising players in his position in Bundesliga.
A versatile central midfielder who can play as a No.8 or as a No.6, the 23-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season so far. Indeed, in 31 games across all competitions, Neuhaus has managed to produce a return of six goals and six assists.
Reports last month surfaced claiming that Tottenham were interested in the Germany international. Since then, Liverpool also are understood to have shown an interest in Neuhaus, who has a £34.5m release clause in his contract. (h/t Football.london)
Responding to the speculations, Neuhaus has insisted that he is continuing to focus on his game, but did coyly admit that he doesn’t know what will happen in the future.
“I have a contract until 2024 and I have very big goals for this season. That’s what I’m concentrating on now. It’s (the speculation) really not a big issue for me now. I play for Borussia, I have a contract and we as a club are still pursuing very big goals this season.
“I can’t say what will happen in the summer at the moment. I’m also very relaxed about the future.”

With Moussa Sissoko not getting any younger and Harry Winks not impressing consistently, someone like Neuhaus can be a fine addition to the Tottenham midfield unit. The German has age on his side and at £34.5m would be affordable as well and can form a solid partnership with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg for years to come.
