Tottenham star Gareth Bale may not start vs Fulham, hints Mourinho

According to Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has suggested that Gareth Bale may not be in the starting lineup for the game against Fulham.

Tottenham make the short trip across London to Craven Cottage this Thursday evening as they gear up to take on relegation battlers Fulham in the Premier League.

However, the Lilywhites may have to do so without Bale in the starting XI, according to Mourinho. Bale was the star of the show for Tottenham as they defeated Burnley 4-0 in the league on Sunday.

The 31-year-old Welshman scored two goals on the afternoon and has now found the back of the net four times in his last four games in all competitions. Mourinho, despite being impressed by Bale’s form, has insisted that he cannot start him in each game due to the winger’s fitness.

“Day after day, day after day, and as I was saying, he is experienced and his knowledge of his body and his feelings are going to be fundamental.

“A player that gives me this kind of performance of course I want to play him on Thursday and on Sunday, and I want to play him next week against Dinamo Zagreb but I don’t think I can. I don’t think I can.

“So this is a process that we have to manage day by day and see how he feels tomorrow and see how he feels after tomorrow. He’s a very important part of this decision-making because he has a lot of experience.”

Having returned to winning ways in the Premier League, it is important to build on it as games continue to come thick and fast. And Bale, given his form, should be a starter without a doubt. Hopefully, he takes the field when Spurs lock horns with Fulham.
