Glenn Hoddle excited by Gareth Bale form and potential link-up with Son and Kane
Writing in his column for the Evening Standard, Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle has claimed that he is excited by the prospect of an in-form Gareth Bale linking up with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
Bale’s arrival in the summer had caused a lot of excitement among the Tottenham faithful. However, the Welshman endured a difficult start to the campaign, struggling for form and fitness, raising questions over the club’s decision to bring him in.
But, that seems to have changed all of a sudden as Bale has been in top form of late. Following his double in the 4-0 win against Burnley, the Welshman has now scored four goals in his last four appearances in all competitions. And his form has excited ex-Spurs boss Hoddle, who believes that Tottenham could now reap the benefits.
“It has taken some time but he is now performing how we wanted him to. If he can keep reproducing anything like that then that is going to be a massive shot in the arm for Tottenham.”
The Tottenham legend then went on to add that the sight of an in-form Bale linking up with Son and Kane can be a tantalising prospect.
“If he can stay like that for the next 10 games or so, that will elevate Tottenham. And it will take a bit of pressure off Harry Kane and Heung-min Son. Those front three could be absolutely sensational, as we all spoke about when Gareth returned.”
It must be noted that Son set both of Bale’s goals on the evening against Burnley while the Welshman created Kane’s goal.
