Ledley King loving life as Tottenham assistant coach under Mourinho
According to Football.london, former Tottenham captain, Ledley King has claimed that he is enjoying his stint as the assistant coach under manager Jose Mourinho.
The Tottenham icon, who was serving as the role of the club ambassador after retirement in 2012, was first brought into the fold by Mourinho towards the backend of the last season. The Portuguese then went on to confirm that King would be joining his backroom staff on a permanent basis at the onset of the 2020/21 campaign.
The former Tottenham defender can often be conducting drills on training pitches as well as monitoring the warm-ups ahead of matches. And speaking about how he has adapted to his new role and his general feeling about being the coach, King has claimed that he is enjoying it and trying to learn as much as he can.
“It’s been a difficult time for everybody away from football, in general, but for me I’ve loved every minute of this. Coming back into football, in the thick of things, being on the training pitch every day and in the stadium. It’s great. Obviously we miss the fans. It will be great to finally get them back in when we do.
“I’m loving every minute of it. It’s an opportunity to learn from one of the best managers there’s ever been. It’s a fantastic opportunity for me and every day I’m just trying to learn as much as possible and improve.”

Having someone like King in the dressing room is huge. The centre-back is a legend at the club and rubbing shoulders with him on a daily basis is bound to have an impact on the players. Good to see that the man himself is relishing in his new role at the club.
