Speaking to Football Insider (h/t Football.london), former Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor has claimed that Tottenham starlet Dane Scarlett is an amazing player with a bright future ahead of him.

The 16-year-old striker is a product of the Tottenham Hotspur youth academy. A prolific scorer with the U-18s, Scarlett got his first-team debut in the group stages of the UEFA Europa League.

He also went on to make his Premier League debut earlier this year before setting up his first goal in Spurs’ colours in the win over Wolfsberger AC in the Europa League last week. Post that, the youngster had been lavished with praise by manager Jose Mourinho.

Now, Agbonlahor has gone on to speak of Scarlett in glowing terms, insisting that he can be a big star for Tottenham Hotspur.

“He’s 16-years-old, he’ll be in and around the team and next year he’ll probably be more involved. I’ve heard about him. I’ve heard from my sources that he’s an amazing player and he’s definitely going to be a star.

“Having confidence from Jose Mourinho, he knows. He’s been around the game long enough to know a special player. If he sees somebody at 16 being so good he’s going to improve so much over the next few years.”
