Wilfried Zaha passed fit for Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace on Sunday
According to Sky Sports, Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has been passed fit to return to action ahead of the weekend game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham play hosts to Palace this Sunday in the Premier League, hoping to make it three wins in a row in the competition following victories over Burnley and Fulham. Those results have put Jose Mourinho’s side back into the mix for a top-four finish and he will be hoping to lead his team to a win against the Eagles.
However, the task will be made difficult by the return of Wilfried Zaha, who has been Palace’s best player this season. The Ivory Coast international had been sidelined with a hamstring issue for a month now, missing the Eagles’ last five games.
But, manager Roy Hodgson has now confirmed that Zaha will indeed be available for selection when they make the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“He has come back quicker than perhaps the medical staff thought was possible. He trained well this week so no reason why I can’t consider him for a place in the team.”
Crystal Palace are unbeaten in their last three games, holding Manchester United to a goalless draw last time out. And with Zaha back, they will be bolstered further. When asked about the Ivorian’s return, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho insisted that he was not surprised.
“He is a very good player, it doesn’t surprise me that he is fit to play against us because everyone is fit against us.”
