Tottenham man Sergio Reguilon hits back at Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane for criticism
Speaking in an interview (h/t Express), Sergio Reguilon has responded to Roy Keane for criticising him and the Tottenham Hotspur squad, and thanked Jamie Redknapp for defending him.
Before Spurs’ 4-0 win over Burnley last weekend, Jamie Redknapp and Roy Keane got embroiled in a heated debate on Sky Sports that went viral. Keane stated that apart from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, Spurs have a squad of “so many average players”.
Redknapp responded by praising Reguilon and saying that the Spaniard is as good as any left-back in the country. The Manchester United legend then pointed out to Real Madrid letting him go.

The former Spurs player then angrily responded that Madrid selling Reguilon does not mean that the 24-year-old is not a good left-back. Keane admitted later that Reguilon is good, but the video of his debate still went viral.
Having a laugh
And after responding on Twitter earlier, Reguilon has now put his feeling into words, saying that he enjoyed seeing that Spurs have a lot of great players.
“This is Roy Keane’s opinion but we have a lot of top-class players who can play in every team. We have the best players but thank you, Jamie, for defending me.”
He then revealed that he enjoyed the video because he found it funny that Keane was getting so worked up during the discussion.
“It was so funny – he was really angry. I watched that and smiled a lot, it was very nice.”
