Son and Kane make PL history by breaking Shearer-Sutton record
Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son broke a 25-year-old Premier League record when they combined to score Tottenham’s 4th goal against Crystal Palace (h/t ESPN). They broke the record for most goal combinations between two players in a season.
It was the pair’s 14th goal, surpassing the record (13) set by Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton in 1994-95. The record was close to being broken by Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser at Bournemouth in 2019 but they fell short at 12.
It was during Tottenham’s 5-2 rout of Southampton that Kane and Son really started to dovetail this season. Kane provided four assists for Son to score and the winger obliged. The Englishman has developed his all-round game this season adding some creativity to his arsenal.
Both these forwards have kept up their goal-scoring form this season. Kane has already managed 24 goals and 16 assists in all competitions. While Son isn’t too far behind with his 18 goals and 16 assists.

Spurs have benefitted a lot from both these players’ contributions in front of goal. We became only the second team this season to score 100 goals in all competitions this season. However, there is more work to be done as Dinamo Zagreb await in the Europa League followed by a North London derby at the weekend.
