Moussa Sissoko reveals he never wanted to leave Tottenham
According to Football.london, Moussa Sissoko never considered the possibility of leaving Tottenham last summer. The Frenchman was linked with an exit from the club in the summer as well as in the recently passed winter transfer windows.
However, he has stayed back and provided an explanation for the same, citing that he never really wanted to leave the club.
“Never! Never! (Laughs) Football is that way and it gives you the chance to bounce back in these situations,” he said in a press conference on Wednesday. That’s what happened. Also I didn’t think that I had to play because I was playing before. No, no, I never said that.
“We all have that moment. You just have to be helpful and supportive and of course knowing that when I am recalled I’ll get back at my best so the team is going to be there for me too. I can’t expect that the team will be losing because I wasn’t playing. That’s never come from me.”
Sissoko has been used to good effect this season by Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese has used him in a double pivot with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. He has played a total of 34 games this season. However, the issue seems to be that a lot of those appearances have come off the bench.

Still, Sissoko remains a useful member of the squad. Tottenham were a downward spiral but 3 wins in the last 3 games in the league have given them some impetus to finish the season on a high. Sissoko will be hoping to play a major part in that.
