Harry Kane ‘committed’ to leaving Tottenham amid Man City interest

According to Spanish publication Sport (h/t Daily Star), Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane has his heart set on a summer exit as Manchester City circle to sign him up.

One of the best strikers in the game currently, Kane has been a prolific goalscorer for Tottenham for a number of years now. The 27-year-old has already plundered 26 goals this season in addition to registering 16 assists from 37 games across all competitions.

However, given his exploits, Kane has been constantly linked with an exit from Tottenham with several clubs across Europe showing interest. And, as per the aforementioned report, there could be a parting of ways between the England captain and Spurs this season as Manchester City lurk.

The Premier League leaders are all set to lose club icon Sergio Aguero when his contract expires at the end of the season. And, Pep Guardiola will delve into the transfer market to replace the Argentine with Kane among the players that Manchester City are monitoring.

Other strikers like Romelu Lukaku of Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland are also on the Cityzens’ radar. But it is said that Kane is committed to leaving Tottenham at the end of the season.

Kane, despite being at the top of his game for years now, is yet to win a single major trophy in his career with Tottenham. And the 27-year-old hinted last year that if his ambitions weren’t being met at the club, he would consider moving on.

Under Mourinho, the team is looking capable of finally ending the trophy drought. Indeed, Tottenham are in the finals of the Carabao Cup and are close to qualifying for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League as well.

Winning a trophy and qualifying for Champions League next season should convince Kane to stay put at the club. But if neither of those objectives are met, things could get tricky in the summer.
