Giovani Lo Celso to be available for Dinamo Zagreb vs Tottenham, Mourinho confirms

Speaking in his pre-match press conference (h/t Football.london), Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Giovani Lo Celso will be available for the game against Dinamo Zagreb.

Tottenham travel to Croatia to play the second leg of their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie against Dinamo Zagreb. The first leg, played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week, ended in a 2-0 win for Tottenham courtesy of a Harry Kane brace.

And heading into the second leg, Mourinho has confirmed that Lo Celso has trained with the team and could be involved. However, he also added that Son Heung-min will miss out with an injury he picked up against Arsenal.

“So Hojbjerg is suspended, Rodon not in the Europa list, Sonny is injured. Apart from that everyone back. Lo Celso back in training.”

Further elaborating on Lo Celso, the Portuguese added that he was a key player to the team. And his return will serve as motivation for others in the squad to step up their game as well.

“Very talented player with very competitive qualities. I don’t think he has 90 minutes in his legs but he’s looked very confident in these three training sessions with the team. I think the team needs him and he is very competitive. I think even for some other players he will help some, he will scare others and I think we need that.”
