Dimitar Berbatov believes Tottenham should use Dele Alli to cover for Son
According to Daily Star, Dimitar Berbatov has urged Tottenham to use Dele Alli for the injured Heung-Min Son. The former Spurs striker felt that the England international can be a worthy cover for the injured star.
The Spurs talisman is currently out injured with a hamstring problem and has been ruled out for the time being. However, the club and player are yet to know the extent of the injury and quite how long he could be out.
Nonetheless, Berbatov has urged Mourinho to reinstate a certain Dele Alli back into the side in Son’s absence. He feels that Son cannot be rushed back into the side and Alli should be used in his stead.
“This is going to be a problem for Spurs, but at the same time it is a great opportunity for the other players. Gareth Bale will play more and Lucas Moura will play more, and Dele Alli will step up. We all know Dele had some setbacks but now one man’s bad luck is another’s good luck.
“It’s been a weird season for Dele. Not long ago he was one of the first names on the Spurs and England team sheets. All of a sudden something changed and he wasn’t a regular, there were times when he didn’t even get in the squad. But now he is getting more game time and he has a big opportunity to show what he can do. I would like to see him play because he plays the football I like to see.”

Berbatov did add that Alli will need to adhere to what Mourinho wants and says. He feels that the player’s refusal to listen to the manager might have been a reason for Alli’s spell away from the team. Spurs are aiming to get back on track in the Premier League but a derby loss to Arsenal severely dented our shot at top-four.
Nonetheless, we will be hoping to get back to winning ways against Aston Villa at the weekend after Europa League disappointment vs Dinamo Zagreb.
