Transfer News: Tottenham could look to sign Jules Kounde to replace Davinson Sanchez
According to a transfer news report from Gol Digital, Tottenham could look to Jules Kounde as a replacement for Davinson Sanchez. It has been reported earlier that Spurs could be open to an exit for Sanchez in the summer if an appropriate offer comes in.
The 24-year-old Colombian international arrived at Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2017 from Dutch giants AFC Ajax in a then club-record £42m transfer. However, he has never quite been able to nail down a regular starting berth at the club.
While there have been promising signs in plenty, at the same time Sanchez has also made quite a few glaring errors demonstrating inconsistencies at the back. For large parts of the ongoing campaign, it seemed like the former Ajax man had fallen out of favour under current manager Jose Mourinho.
Jules Kounde looks like a player who can solve those issues for Spurs. He is young, agile and a strong defender. His age suits the club’s criteria of signings and would be a long-term solution for their problems if he gets going. An instrumental part of Sevilla’s Europa League triumph last season, he has the winning mentality that Spurs could use.

While Sanchez has performed decently in recent weeks, it does look like the club are no longer willing to wait on him. Kounde represents a readymade option to replace Sanchez but with Manchester United also after the player, Spurs will have to act fast.
