Tottenham News: Spurs stars privately critical of Jose Mourinho behind the scenes

According to news from The Independent, Tottenham Hotspur players are not happy and have been privately criticising manager Jose Mourinho behind the scenes.

Tottenham are in a difficult position at the moment with Mourinho under intense scrutiny following the club’s exit from the UEFA Europa League. Questions are being asked of his suitability for the role while it has even been claimed that replacements are already being drawn up to take over from the Portuguese tactician.

Amidst all this speculation, it is now being reported that Tottenham players are not entirely happy with their manager behind the scenes.

Mourinho’s confrontational approach with players is something that hasn’t gone down too well with some of the Spurs’ stars. Some have even understood to have spoken privately as to how this has sapped their confidence.

In addition, the players are said to be unhappy with the coaching methods especially during attacking drills. Finally, the tactics are deemed to be too defensive and reactive as well. This is something that club captain Hugo Lloris also seemed to hint at in recent interviews after the losses to Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb.

All in all, things seem to be unravelling for Mourinho behind the scenes at Tottenham.

The news of Tottenham players being unhappy with Mourinho mustn’t come as a huge surprise. This is a pattern that followed in his last two managerial stints with Chelsea and Manchester United as well.

We all know how those spells came to an end. It now remains to be seen if Daniel Levy also decides to take the same approach and get rid of Mourinho before the season ends.
