Sevilla eyeing Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez as Jules Kounde replacement
A report by TeamTALK (h/t football.london) mentions that La Liga side, Sevilla, are looking at Davinson Sanchez of Tottenham Hotspur.
But that is only if their star defender, Jules Kounde, leaves Sevillistas Rojiblancos. The U-21 French international is linked with a move to Manchester United.
And Davinson Sanchez is seen by them as his ideal replacement; granted he leaves in the near future. Kounde is a regular fixture in the Sevilla line-up.
The 22-year-old defender has played 23 league games this season and is a major reason why his club are comfortably sitting in a UEFA Champions League spot.
Sanchez eyed by Sevilla
Sanchez, on the other hand, was not favoured by Jose Mourinho earlier this season as he stuck to the defensive pairing of Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier on most occasions.
That has changed recently as the 24-year-old has now made 7 league starts in a row. He also played in the two legs against Dinamo Zagreb and is undoubtedly one of the first names on the team sheet now. (h/t transfermarkt)
And it is about time that Sanchez is showing his worth at Spurs considering they agreed to fee up to £42m for him when they signed him from Ajax in 2017. His current contract at the club runs until the summer of 2024.
But Sevilla would still make an approach if Kounde leaves. The French centre-back would not go for cheap, however, as he is valued at £77m.

Spurs still have Alderweireld, Dier, Joe Rodon, and Japhet Tanganga in that position apart from Sanchez. But the Colombian centre-back is just reaching his peak years and Spurs could live to regret the move if manages to turn into an even better defender in La Liga.
