Lucas Moura: Tottenham squad has full belief in Jose Mourinho

According to The Independent, Tottenham Hotspur star Lucas Moura has thrown his weight behind manager Jose Mourinho insisting that the squad is fully behind him.

The Portuguese tactician has come under intense pressure following Tottenham’s dismal defeats to Arsenal and Dinamo Zagreb last week. The latter loss led to Spurs crashing out of the UEFA Europa League, leading to Mourinho’s position coming under intense scrutiny.

Tottenham, however, were able to turn things around this past Sunday, beating Aston Villa 2-0. The win sees the Lilywhites move to sixth place, three points below Chelsea in fourth.

And, Lucas Moura, who had a good game against Dean Smith’s side at the Villa Park on Sunday, has come out in support of the manager. The Brazilian insisted that the squad is completely together and had total faith in Jose Mourinho.

This comes after Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris had hinted at potential dissension within the ranks after the defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia. Lucas’ statements, however, paint a different picture.

“We are all together. We’re in the same boat. We lose together, we win together. What happened in Croatia was our fault. Everyone is included. When we’re on the pitch, we just want to win. We play for our family, we play for pride and we’re all together.”

“We believe in the coach. We believe in the coach because we know his history. We just want to be successful here.”
