Tottenham star Sergio Reguilon issues injury update after Aston Villa win

Following Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday night, left-back Sergio Reguilon took to social media to provide an update on his condition.

Tottenham bounced back to winning ways on Sunday with goals from Carlos Vinicius and Harry Kane firing Jose Mourinho & co. to a vital three points. The result meant Tottenham moved to sixth place in the league table, just three points off of Chelsea in fourth.

However, what was a positive outing, for the most part, was turned a bit sour by the injury to Reguilon. The Spanish international was on the receiving end of a strong challenge from Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Sanson. Following that he was involved in a collision with Ezri Konsa.

Even though he tried to run off the injury, it wasn’t to be. And in the 57th minute, the former Real Madrid man had to be withdrawn, with Ben Davies coming in to replace him.

Given Reguilon’s importance to the side, his substitution did cause some worry. But he has eased any concerns by confirming on social media that everything is alright.

Reguilon arrived at Tottenham Hotspur last summer from La Liga champions Real Madrid. Since joining the 24-year-old has displaced Ben Davies as the club’s first-choice left-back.

Across all competitions, the Spanish international has featured 26 times in all competitions, providing five assists in the process. Solid defensively, aggressive in the attack, Reguilon has been an impressive signing for us. And it is good to learn that his injury is nothing serious.
