Antonio Conte ‘could quit Inter’ with Tottenham Hotspur an option
According to Tuttosport (h/t Daily Star), Italian manager Antonio Conte could quit his job at Inter Milan at the end of the season, with Tottenham a possible summer destination.
One of the most successful managers in modern football, Conte created history during his time with Juventus leading them to multiple Serie A titles. Having arrived at Chelsea in 2016, the Italian led the Blues to a Premier League title in his first season before winning the FA Cup in the second.
Having left Chelsea in 2018, Conte joined Inter Milan in 2019 and has gone about turning them into genuine title challengers. While his side narrowly missed out on the Serie A title last term they are currently the leaders in the Italian top-flight and look primed to win.
However, having been hit with financial troubles, Inter Milan are likely to endure a quiet transfer summer window now. This, though, will be a problem for Conte, who could quit the club if no new signings are promised. And should he do so, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have been touted as his next possible clubs.
Tottenham already have a former Chelsea manager at the helm in the form of Jose Mourinho. However, things have been rocky at the club under the Portuguese. Recent results, particularly the NLD defeat to Arsenal and the Europa League exit against Dinamo Zagreb have ramped up the pressure on the ex-Chelsea, Manchester United boss.

The Carabao Cup does offer hope of ending the club’s trophy drought. Failure to finish in the top four of the Premier League could spell trouble for Mourinho as Tottenham would then be missing out on Champions League football for consecutive seasons.
If he indeed does depart, Conte could be a fine replacement – in terms of bringing success to the club and immediately so.
