Transfer News: Tottenham target Florian Neuhaus unlikely to leave Borussia Monchengladbach

According to news from German outlet Sport 1 (h/t Inside Fubtol), Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Florian Neuhaus is unlikely to leave Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer.

A central midfielder who has been with Gladbach since 2017, Neuhaus has grown into one of the best up and coming players in his position in the Bundesliga over the past couple of seasons. His progress in Germany has invariably caught the eyes of a number of top clubs across Europe including Tottenham.

Along with Tottenham Hotspur, reigning Premier League champions Liverpool have also expressed an interest in the services of the 24-year-old midfielder. However, following the recent comments made by Neuhaus over his future, he has now been tipped to stay put at Gladbach in the summer.

“I notice that there is a lot being written and speculated but I don’t take part in it. That’s not a big issue for me either. To be honest, I don’t see my future as unclear as I just mentioned.”

At 24, the German international still has his best years ahead of him and his ability to play as a No.8 would have made him the ideal partner in the middle of the park for last summer signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg at Tottenham.

That position is something that club needs to address considering that Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko are not good enough.

However, judging by Neuhaus’ comments, it seems unlikely that he would be making a move away from Borussia Monchengladbach in the immediate future. Nevertheless, a new central midfielder should be a priority for Tottenham when the summer transfer window opens for business.
