Tottenham News: Serge Aurier impresses for Ivory Coast on international duty
According to news from Daily Mail, Tottenham full-back Serge Aurier played a starring role for Ivory Coast against Niger. His side won 3-0 to seal the qualification for AFCON 2022 and the Ivorian was at the heart of all three goals.
First, he scored one all by himself in the 25th minute to give his side the lead. Then he added two assists with the first one for Max Gradel and then another for Wilfried Kanon. That ensured Ivory Coast’s qualification with the top spot.
Aurier was among quite a few familiar faces from the Premier League with the likes of Eric Bailly, Willy Boly and Nicolas Pepe also starting. Ethiopia and Madagascar are the other two teams who will fight out for the remaining qualification spot.
This performance will surely boost Aurier’s confidence given that Matt Doherty has sidelined him for the last few games. A goal and two assists were the right rewards for Aurier who was splendid on the night, almost doing everything by himself.
