Harry Kane needs to leave Tottenham, claim Roy Keane and Ashley Cole
According to the Daily Mail, former Premier League footballers Roy Keane and Ashley Cole have claimed that Harry Kane needs to leave Tottenham if he wishes to win the big trophies in his career.
A product of the Tottenham Hotspur youth academy, the 27-year-old has grown into one of the best strikers in the world since breaking into the first-team. Right up there with Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, Kane, however, does not have the same kind of trophy haul as the Poland international.
Indeed, so far in his career, Harry Kane hasn’t won a single major trophy with Tottenham. And even though there is a chance of that ending this season with Spurs facing Manchester City in the Carabao Cup, Kane has been urged to consider his future at the club by Keane.
‘If you’re a top player you want to win trophies. It’s a big few months coming up for Tottenham, the League Cup final (against Man City), can they get in the top four? Huge question marks. Will that influence him? But if you’re in his shoes and it comes to the summer, I think the guy has to move on to really win the big prizes. He’s not going to do it at Tottenham.’
Keane’s sentiments were largely echoed by former Arsenal and Chelsea defender Ashley Cole as well.
“Every time I hear him (Kane) speak about Spurs, he seems happy, but under the surface he wants to win as well. Will he win at Tottenham? I don’t think so. It’s going to be interesting for him, whether he stays or goes, but it’s going to be a very, very big decision for him.”

Kane has been a top professional year in year out for Tottenham and has been our best player season after season. But the upcoming summer could be a huge one for both him as well as the club with regard to his future.
A top-four finish in the Premier League and the Carabao Cup triumph could just about be enough to convince him to stay though.
