Harry Kane ‘super positive’ about Tottenham prospects for the rest of the season
According to the Evening Standard, England manager Gareth Southgate has claimed that Tottenham star Harry Kane is still very positive about the club’s prospects for the rest of the season.
Kane, 27, is currently away on international duty. The England captain was on target as the Three Lions beat Albania 2-0 in their FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifier tie this past weekend. Up next for Kane & co. is a tie against Poland at the Wembley Stadium this week.
Following that Kane will return to Tottenham where things haven’t been going all too well in the past few weeks. After stringing together a good run of results, Spurs, a week prior to the international break lost to Arsenal in the NLD.
Immediately after that, Jose Mourinho & co. were dumped out of the UEFA Europa League unceremoniously by Dinamo Zagreb. While a win against Aston Villa did ensure that the team went into the international break on a high, Spurs face a battle to finish within the top four.
And the only chance of winning a trophy this term is the Carabao Cup where the team faces an unstoppable Manchester City side next month. However, Southgate has claimed that Kane is still very positive about what’s in store for Tottenham for the remainder of the season.
“What’s pleased me about Harry this week is that he’s been super positive about everything. His view of where the club are at is that they’re three points off a Champions League place, with a League Cup final to look forward to.
“That’s the only thing he’s discussed with me. From our point of view, he’s led the group really well again this week.”
