The exit's that way Dele - Mourinho forcing Alli out?

Aston Villa urged to sign Tottenham star Dele Alli by Gabriel Agbonlahor

Speaking to Football Insider (h/t Birmingham Live), former Premier League striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has urged Aston Villa to make a move for Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli.

The 24-year-old finds himself at a difficult stage in his career. Alli has been constantly overlooked by manager Jose Mourinho this season. As a result, the midfielder was linked with an exit back in the summer window, as well as the January transfer window.

Of late, reports have claimed that Tottenham would be willing to sanction an exit for Alli in the summer. Moreover, it has been also claimed that the club could be willing to let him go for a fee of just £25m. (h/t Birmingham Live)

And, Agbonlahor has claimed that Aston Villa must make the most of the situation by swooping in for Alli. However, the former striker does express doubts as to whether Tottenham would sell him for a fee as little as £25m.

“I just don’t see Spurs letting him go for that amount of money, to be honest. He’s still young. Daniel Levy [the Spurs chairman] will want more than that.

“If that was the fee, I’d definitely expect Aston Villa to go for him. I think he’d be perfect for Aston Villa in that number 10 role. But I don’t see it being that fee. This is Daniel Levy we’re talking about.”

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

Alli’s future at Tottenham, as things stand, is far from certain. At 24, he still has his best years in front of him and we all know how brilliant he can be if he rediscovers his confidence. But that seems like a distant possibility as long as Mourinho is in charge at Tottenham.

One thing is for certain though, Levy would never sell a player of his quality for as little as £25m.
