Tottenham News: Mourinho rejected by Real Madrid starlet Miguel Gutierrez
According to news from Defensa Central (h/t Express), Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has once again been rejected by Real Madrid starlet Miguel Gutierrez.
The 19-year-old Gutierrez is a product of the Real Madrid youth academy and currently plays for the club’s RM Castilla outfit. A left-back by trade, the teenager is yet to make his first-team debut for Los Blancos but has impressed for the club’s youth sides as well as the Castilla squad.
Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is said to be a keen admirer of Gutierrez. In fact, the Portuguese had made an attempt to land the left-back back when he was the manager of Manchester United. However, the young Spaniard had rejected his overtures in favour of a stay at Real Madrid.
And history seems to have repeated itself again as Mourinho tried to sign the Spain Under-19 international at Tottenham as well, only to face rejection once again from Gutierrez.
The 19-year-old, despite not making his first-team debut for the reigning La Liga champions, is happy to wait for his chance to break into the side under Zinedine Zidane. And, as a result, he has once again turned down Mourinho’s interest.

Tottenham did have some success in their transfer dealings with Real Madrid last summer as the club was able to sign Sergio Reguilon on a permanent deal and bring back Gareth Bale on loan. Reguilon has been a hit at Tottenham while Bale, too, despite early troubles, has fared well of late.
Mourinho’s pursuit of Gutierrez, however, did not yield the desired outcome.
