Tottenham receive Son Heung-min injury boost ahead of Newcastle clash

According to Football.london, Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major injury boost ahead of their PL fixture against Newcastle, with Son Heung-min back in training.

The 28-year-old has been in scintillating form this term, banging in 18 goals and 16 assists in all competitions. His partnership with Harry Kane has been one of the biggest positives for Tottenham this term.

prolific Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min has emerged as a top target for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Son back in training ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s trip to Newcastle

However, Son had missed Spurs’ last two games after he picked up an injury in the 2-1 defeat to local rivals Arsenal in the Premier League last month. This meant, he was unavailable for the humiliating loss against Dinamo Zagreb as well as the win over Aston Villa just before the international break.

The break seems to have come at a good time for Son and Tottenham though. The in-form forward was pictured back in training as Tottenham gear up to return to club football this weekend.

Spurs will resume their quest for a top-four finish this Sunday with a trip to St. James’ Park where they take on Newcastle United. And, having Son back in contention will come as a huge boost for manager Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese has come under intense pressure following Tottenham’s Europa League exit last month. A top-four finish, thus, becomes an imperative. As things stand, the Lilywhites are three points off of Chelsea in fourth place.
