Tottenham still scouting Milan Skriniar; Inter Milan ace now valued at €75m

According to reputed journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, on the ‘Here We Go’ Podcast, Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to scout Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, whose value has soared to €75m.

Tottenham spent the entire last summer chasing the transfer of the Slovakian international. However, a move failed to materialise over Inter Milan’s transfer fee demands. (h/t Express)

Romano, however, has claimed that Spurs continue to scout the player as they seem as the ideal fit to bolster the defensive unit.

“I will mention again Skriniar because they love this player. They are scouting, they love this player, they are convinced he would be perfect. Mourinho loves this player. He’s one of the players they are convinced would be perfect.”

However, the Italian journalist also adds that he might be out of reach for Tottenham as his transfer valuation has soared much higher this season following his impressive performances this term.

“They have one big problem, they were really close to signing Milan Skriniar, they offered like €35m, Inter were asking for €50m, so they were close, but they decided to give up.

“What happened in this moment is that Conte is doing an amazing job with Skriniar. Before they had Diego Godin and Skriniar wasn’t playing. Now he’s a starter and he is doing so well, fans are in love with Skriniar, so now it is not €50m, I think it will be around €75-80m for Srkiniar.”

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

Given that we have already crashed out of European football this season and seem unlikely to qualify for Champions League football for the next term, finances will be tight. Plus, it is highly unlikely that Daniel Levy would splash that much money on one player. So, a move for Skriniar is as good as being off.
