Tottenham Transfer News: Villarreal want to sign Juan Foyth on permanent deal
According to transfer news from AS via Sport Witness, Villarreal could sign Juan Foyth permanently from Tottenham. Apparently, the defender’s performances have been convincing enough for Villarreal to convert his loan deal into a permanent one at the end of the season.
Foyth, 23, joined Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2017 from Argentine outfit Estudiantes. However, the versatile defender was never quite able to establish himself as a regular at the club under Mauricio Pochettino or Jose Mourinho.
Having fallen well down the pecking order of things under the latter, Foyth was allowed to seal a loan transfer away from Tottenham last summer. And the 23-year-old joined Villarreal, where after a slow start, he has gradually grown into a regular member of the team.
There have been instances where manager Unai Emery claimed that he would keep the player if it was up to him and Foyth also claiming that he is happy in Spain (h/t Sport Witness). Villarreal do hold a €15m-to-buy option on the player and are willing to exercise the same.

While there have been reports that Villarreal may look to reduce that fee, now it is being said that they might just stump up the entire fee. The Argentine has been impressive for them and that is the reason why they might not haggle for a reduction in fees.
