Transfer News: Tottenham Hotspur set to battle Arsenal for Orkun Kokcu
According to transfer news from Daily Mail, Tottenham are set to battle Arsenal for the signing of highly-rated youngster Orkun Kokcu. The Feyenoord midfielder is one of the best emerging talents in Europe and has attracted the interest of both north London clubs.
The Turkish youngster has impressed during his stay in Holland and has become a vital part of the Feyenoord side. Kokcu was a part of the Groningen academy before linking up with Feyenoord. He spent a few years on the youth side before being handed his first-team debut in 2018.
The 20-year-old is a natural playmaker and usually prefers to play the number 10 role. He can also drop deeper to play as a central midfielder. Spurs are looking to add another midfielder given they usually play three in their starting XI. Tanguy Ndombele and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are the two first-choice players now and the third spot is still up for grabs.
It is understood that Spurs have kept their eyes on the player for next season regardless of any managerial change. The club are said to be in contact with the player’s representatives to show their interest in him and want to be made aware of any updates.
