Mourinho confirms Matt Doherty and Ben Davies ruled out for Everton vs Tottenham

Speaking to the club’s official website, Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has delivered important injury updates ahead of the game against Everton.

Tottenham face off against Everton at Goodison Park on Friday night, hoping to get back to winning ways. Following our win over Aston Villa prior to the international break, Mourinho & co. have failed to pick up all three points in the last two games. Having first been held to a 2-2 draw by Newcastle United, Spurs fell to a 3-1 defeat at home to Manchester United last weekend.

This has left us in the seventh place in the Premier League table, six points off of West Ham United in the fourth place. With Everton also pretty much in contention for a top-six finish, given as they are just a point and a place below us on the table, it is imperative that the team returns with all three points on Friday.

However, Mourinho will once again be unable to call upon the services of full-backs Matt Doherty and Ben Davies for the all-important clash at the Goodison Park. In addition to the duo, teenage sensation Dane Scarlett is also set to miss out on Friday, the manager confirmed.

“Matt Doherty and Ben Davies are still out. Dane Scarlett had a problem in the FA Youth Cup match and (apart from that) everybody is fine.”

Davies picked up an injury in the game against Villa just before the international break. Doherty, meanwhile came back from national duty with the Republic of Ireland with an injury.

The duo hasn’t been the first-choice under Mourinho. But considering that both Serge Aurier and Sergio Reguilon struggled in the last game against Manchester United, having at least one of the two back could have been beneficial.
