Kion Etete among young Tottenham Hotspur hopefuls as Mourinho prepares side for Everton
According to Football.london, Kion Etete is among a number of youngsters taking part in first-team training as Tottenham Hotspur take on Everton in the English Premier League this Friday.
Spurs suffered a huge setback in their top-four aspirations by losing 3-1 to Manchester United last Sunday. Mourinho will hope that his side can get back to winning ways against Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
A number of youngsters were seen in attendance as the Spurs team were put through their drills at Enfield training base. The likes of Japhet Tanganga, Troy Parrott, Dennis Cirkin, Harvey White, Dane Scarlett and Alfie Devine were all involved in the past. Interestingly, seven more youngsters were pictured to be involved this time around.
Promising young striker Etete was one of those pictured as he gathered around Mourinho for a quick chat. The likes of George Marsh, Jamie Bowden, J’Neil Bennett and Brooklyn Lyons-Foster were also pictured in the same.
Striker Rodel Richards was pictured doing sprints while midfielder Elliot Thorpe was observed giving senior star Davinson Sanchez a fist bump.
Mourinho has often been criticized for not giving young players many opportunities. The naysayers, however, have had to eat humble pie during the Portuguese tactician’s stint in North London. While it will be a surprise to see any of the seven youngsters be involved against the Toffees, they will surely have gained from the experience.
