Transfer News: Former Tottenham Hotspur player makes massive Harry Kane to Manchester City claim
Speaking on Stadium Astro (h/t HITC), Andros Townsend stated that Daniel Levy will not let Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane, join Manchester City.
A report earlier this year claimed that Kane would push to leave Spurs if they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. And just last month, he was freshly linked with a move to Premier League leaders, Manchester City.
Kane is yet to win a trophy at Spurs. The 27-year-old has been the club’s main goal-scorer time and again and has been in that lethal form this season as well.
But he is yet to land a trophy with Spurs. And while there is a chance to win silverware for the club next weekend against City in the Carabao Cup final, Spurs don’t look like finishing in the top 4.
No end to Kane saga
With just 6 games to go, Jose Mourinho’s men are 7th in the table, 5 points adrift of West Ham United in 4th.
But Townsend seems to think that there is no way Daniel Levy would sanction a sale to Manchester City.
The former Spurswinger says from experience that Levy would rather sell Kane to foreign clubs for cheaper than strengthen a direct Premier League rival.
“He doesn’t want to strengthen a rival. He would rather take less money and have one of his best players go overseas than take 30 odd million and make one of his rivals even better and make that team go further away from Spurs.”

Spurs would rather prefer that the Englishman doesn’t leave N17 at all. But it may get difficult to convince him if the club doesn’t qualify for Champions League next season and manages to lose the League Cup final next weekend.
