Tottenham Transfer News: Davinson Sanchez wanted by Ajax, Sevilla
According to news from the Express, Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez is a subject of transfer interest from former club Ajax as well as La Liga outfit Sevilla.
Sanchez, 24, has been with Tottenham Hotspur since 2017, having arrived from a then-club record fee from AFC Ajax. However, in his four years at the club, the Colombian international has failed to nail down a regular starting berth for himself.
Indeed, Sanchez has constantly been in and out of the lineup, be it under former manager Mauricio Pochettino or current boss Jose Mourinho. Heading into the summer transfer window, Tottenham are prioritising the transfer of a new centre-back, which could cast uncertainty on the future of Sanchez.
The report states that Tottenham are quite intent on securing the signing of on-loan Fulham defender Joachim Andersen from Olympique Lyon in the summer. In fact, the club have already scheduled a meeting with his representatives in the coming weeks to explore the possibility of a transfer.
So, should a move go through, Sanchez’s position within the club will be reconsidered. Amidst this, the Colombian international is now said to be attracting interest from his former employers AFC Ajax. In addition to that, La Liga outfit Sevilla are also claimed to be keen on signing the towering defender. (h/t Express)
Since arriving at the club in 2017, Sanchez has gone on to make 143 appearances for Tottenham, in which he has managed to score three goals and assist one more. (h/t Transfermarkt)

Sanchez’s contract with the club runs till the summer of 2024, with the centre-back having penned a six-year extension back in 2018. It now remains to be seen whether Tottenham are willing to cash in on him this summer if a new centre-back arrives at the club.
