Ryan Mason issues update on Tottenham star Harry Kane ahead of Carabao Cup final
According to Football.london, Tottenham manager Ryan Mason has issued an injury update on the condition of star striker Harry Kane ahead of the club’s Carabao Cup final.
Tottenham face off against Manchester City in the finals of the Carabao Cup this weekend in what will be a golden opportunity for the club end our long-drawn trophy drought.
Leading into the game, though, there are concerns surrounding the fitness of our ace goalscorer Harry Kane. The 27-year-old picked up an ankle injury late in the 2-2 draw against Everton – Jose Mourinho’s last game in charge of the club.
And the England captain did not feature on Wednesday as Tottenham beat Southampton 2-1 in what was interim manager Mason’s first job in charge of the team. Having not trained so far this week, Mason was asked whether Kane would be able to make it to the titanic clash at the weekend.
“It’s difficult, we’re still not sure yet. We’re just treating it day-by-day, but the hope is he might be on the pitch at the end of the week. But at the moment, it’s a day-by-day thing.”
Kane has, by far, been our best player in the ongoing campaign. And while the team showed that it can do the job without him against the Saints, Manchester City will be a whole different cup of tea altogether.

It will be a huge test for Mason as well as the team, given the pressure of the club’s trophyless run. Having Kane would certainly provide us with a better chance to cross the hurdle. Hopefully, the superstar is able to make a quick recovery.
